World Chalice là dòng bài có các nhân vật dựa vào các game nổi tiếng như Final Fantasy và Xenoblade Chronicles, gồm các monster thuộc các tộc (type) khác nhau và các hệ (attribute) khác nhau. Đây là Deck tập trung vào Link Summon đầu tiên mà Konami thiết kế, và ngay từ lúc chúng được release trong set Code of the Duelist, người ta đã thấy được tiềm năng của Link Summon khi chúng có khả năng spam field cực nhanh. World Chalice có thể được coi là phiên bản của Infernity trong thời đại Synchro Summon. 

Tuy vậy, điểm yếu hiện tại của Link Summon là có một field đủ vững chắc hoặc sở hữu những card có thể lock đối phương. Vậy World Chalice cần phải chơi thế nào cho phù hợp meta game hiện tại? Combo của Deck cần phải thi triển ra sao để có thể tận dụng full power của Deck?

I. Đoàn quân World Chalice

1. Monster trong Main Deck

Mage - Lee the World Chalice Fairy

If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 "World Chalice" monster from your Deck to your hand. If this card is in your GY: You can send 1 monster from your hand or field to the GY; add this card to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Lee the World Chalice Fairy" once per turn.

Searcher chính của Deck và cũng là monster khởi nguồn của mọi combo trong World Chalice. Khi Lee được Special Summon hoặc Normal Summon thì cô nàng có thể search lên tay bất kì 1 World Chalice monster nào lên tay. Target thông thường nhất của Lee là World Legacy - "World Chalice".

Ngoài effect search cực tốt, Lee còn có thể tự nhảy lên tay từ Graveyard bằng cách send 1 monster từ field hoặc hand.

Max 3 trong mọi build.

DPS (Damage Per Second) - World Chalice Guardragon

When a card or effect is activated that targets your linked monster (Quick Effect): You can send this card from your hand or field to the GY; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card. You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 Normal Monster in your GY; Special Summon it in Defense Position to your zone a Link Monster points to. You can only use this effect of "World Chalice Guardragon" once per turn.

Effect bảo kê những monster được "linked" khỏi bị target khá mạnh nhưng trong thời đại hiện nay, để phá 1 Field Link người ta thường sử dụng mass removal như Dark Hole hay Kaiju hơn... Tuy nhiên, điểm mạnh nhất của Guardragon chính là effect thứ 2 - banish nó từ Graveyard để hồi sinh 1 Normal Monster vào ô được Link Monster chỉ vào.

Không có gì để bàn nhiều về 3 Normal Monster này. Số lượng sẽ tùy thuộc vào sở thích của từng player. Tuy nhiên, The Agent of Creation - Venus đã làm quá tốt nhiệm vụ của những monster này...

World Legacy - "World Chalice"

If a monster(s) is Special Summoned from the Extra Deck (except during the Damage Step): You can Tribute this card; send that monster(s) to the GY. You can only use each of the following effects of "World Legacy - "World Chalice"" once per turn.
● If this face-up Normal Summoned/Set card leaves the field: You can Special Summon 2 "World Chalice" monsters from your Deck, except "World Legacy - "World Chalice"".
● During your Main Phase, except the turn this card was sent to the GY: You can banish this card from your GY; add 1 "World Legacy" card from your Deck to your hand.

Di sản đầu tiên của World Legacy, World Chalice, là chiếc bình năng lượng tập trung toàn bộ sức mạnh của World Chalice. Khi lá bài này được Normal Summon/Set và bị send xuống Graveyard, người chơi có thể Special Summon 2 World Chalice monster bất kì từ Deck. Đây là cầu nối rất quan trọng để dàn một field Link Monster vững chắc.

2. Monster trong Extra Deck

World Chalice sở hữu 4 Link Monster, tương ứng với 4 "cấp tiến hóa" của các World Chalice Monster là Guardragon, Chosen, Beckoned và Crowned.

Tất cả các World Chalice Link Monster đều có effect triệu hồi World Chalice từ trên tay nếu chúng rơi xuống Graveyard.

Imduk The World Chalice Dragon

1 Normal Monster, except a Token
During your Main Phase, you can Normal Summon 1 "World Chalice" monster in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. (You can only gain this effect once per turn.) At the start of the Damage Step, if this card battles an opponent's monster this card points to: You can destroy that opponent's monster. If this card is sent from the field to the GY: You can Special Summon 1 "World Chalice" monster from your hand.

Link-1, sở hữu effect Normal Summon thêm 1 lần nữa 1 World Chalice. Khi không có Brilliant Fusion, Imduk giúp bạn Tribute Summon thêm World Legacy - World Chalice bên cạnh lượt Normal Summon thông thường.

Ib The World Chalice Priestess

2 monsters with different Types and Attributes
This linked card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects. Your opponent cannot target this linked card with card effects. If a monster(s) this card points to would be destroyed by a card effect, you can send this card to the GY instead. If this card is sent from the field to the GY: You can Special Summon 1 "World Chalice" monster from your hand.

Link-2, Ib có khả năng bảo kê rất tốt những lá bài mà nó linked vào. Ib cũng không thể bị destroy bởi battle hoặc card effect nếu được linked. Một field gồm Ib + Firewall Dragon hoặc Ib + Trigate Wizard hoặc Ib + Ib là một lớp lá chắn tương đối hoàn hảo rồi !!

Auram The World Chalice Blademaster

2 "World Chalice" monsters
Gains 300 ATK for each "World Legacy" monster in your GY with a different name. You can Tribute 1 "World Chalice" monster this card points to, then target 1 other monster in your GY; Special Summon it to your zone this card points to. You can only use this effect of "Auram the World Chalice Blademaster" once per turn. If this card is sent from the field to the GY: You can Special Summon 1 "World Chalice" monster from your hand.

Link-2, effect giúp hồi sinh BẤT KÌ monster nào trong Graveyard bằng cách tribute 1 monster nó chỉ vào. Nếu đi trước, Auram là một trong những lá bài giúp bạn triệu hồi ra SKULLDEAT, THE CHAINED DRACOSERPENT chỉ với 1-2 card. (xem combo phía sau)

Ningirsu The World Chalice Warrior

2+ Link Monsters
If this card is Link Summoned: Draw cards equal to the number of "World Chalice" monsters this card points to. You can only use this effect of "Ningirsu the World Chalice Warrior" once per turn. Once per turn: You can send 1 card from each player's field to the GYs. If this card is sent from the field to the GY: You can Special Summon 1 "World Chalice" monster from your hand.

Link-3, chủ bài của toàn bộ binh đoàn World Chalice. Ningirsu khi Summon ra lập tức giúp bạn draw card bằng với số lượng World Chalice mà nó chỉ vào. Xếp Chain Link một cách khéo léo sẽ giúp bạn draw được ít nhất 2 card, và tùy trường hợp còn draw được 3 card.

Effect thứ 2 của Ningirsu có thể vượt qua gần như tất cả những lá bài chống target, chống destroy và được dùng rộng rãi trong nhiều Deck hiện nay.

3. Spell/Trap hỗ trợ

World Legacy's Heart


Lấy lại 2 World Chalice monster lên tay để combo tiếp. Ngoài ra, World Legacy's Heart còn giúp bảo kê những Link Monster khỏi battle 1 lần.

"Monster Reborn" phiên bản Link Monster và có thể search được thông qua World Legacy - World Chalice. Đây sẽ là một lá bài rất mạnh ra mắt vào tháng 1/2018 trong set Flame of Destruction (FLOD)

II. Những đồng minh thiên thần của binh đoàn World Chalice

1. Engine Brilliant Fusion

3x Brilliant Fusion
1x Gem-Knight Seraphinite
1x Gem-Knight Garnet
1x Gem-Knight Lazuli

Brilliant Fusion được áp dụng full-power trong World Chalice. Không chỉ giúp Normal Summon thêm 1 lần nữa (World Legacy - "World Chalice"), mà Brilliant Fusion còn giúp send xuống Lee the World Chalice Fairy. Combo đơn giản như sau:


B1: Activate Brilliant Fusion, send Gem-Knight Garnet/Lazuli và Lee. Summon Gem-Knight Seraphinite
B2: Add Lee lên tay bằng cách send 1 monster trên tay. Normal Summon Lee, add World Legacy - World Chalice
B3: Normal Summon thêm 1 lần nữa World Legacy - World Chalice bằng cách tribute summon Gem-Knight Seraphinite. Tiến hành Link Summon để World Legacy - World Chalice "rụng" xuống Graveyard.

Vì sao tác giả chọn 1 Gem-Knight Garnet và 1 Gem-Knight Lazuli ? Gem-Knight Garnet là Normal Monster nên sẽ là target phù hợp để Guardragon hồi sinh, trong khi Lazuli lại có thể "gắp" lên Normal Monster khi bị send xuống Graveyard.



2. The Agent of Creation - Venus

3x The Agent of Creation - Venus
3x Mystical Shine Ball

You can pay 500 LP; Special Summon 1 "Mystical Shine Ball" from your hand or Deck.

Engine thay thế gần như hoàn toàn các World Chalice Normal Monster. Chỉ với một mình Venus, bạn có thể tạo ra 4 monster trên field, điều kiện lý tưởng để tung ra Skulldeat, the Chained Dracoserpent.

Mystical Shine Ball là Normal Monster nên có thể đem Link lên Imduk.

3. Eva + các Herald

1x Eva
2-3x Herald of the Orange Light
1x Herald of the Green Light
0-1x Herald of the Purple Light

If this card is sent to the GY: You can banish up to 2 other LIGHT Fairy monsters from your field and/or GY; add from your Deck to your hand, Level 2 or lower LIGHT Fairy monsters with different names, except "Eva", equal to the number of monsters banished this way. You can only use this effect of "Eva" once per turn.

Eva khi rơi xuống Graveyard giúp bạn add lên tay tối đa 2 Fairy Light Level 2 bằng cách banish 2 Fairy Monster từ Graveyard hoặc trên bàn. Và thật tình cờ, Lee là FAIRY LIGHT LEVEL 2.

Các Herald sẽ là câu trả lời cho hand trap của đối thủ hoặc Dark Hole muốn dọn dẹp field. Điều tuyệt vời là, trong khi thi triển combo, bạn có thể add lên tay chúng như một "món quà Give-Away."

*** Tips: Brilliant Fusion send Lazuli + Eva. Xếp Eva chain link 1, Lazuli chain link 2 sẽ tránh được đối thủ "Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring" vào Eva.

4. Angel Paladin Arch-Parshath

If you activate a Counter Trap Card, OR if you negate the activation of a Spell/Trap Card, or monster effect (except during the Damage Step): You can banish 2 other Fairy monsters from your hand, field and/or GY; Special Summon this card from the GY (if it was there when you activated/negated) or hand (even if not). If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage. When this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent: You can add 1 "Parshath" card or 1 Counter Trap from your Deck to your hand.

Trong Deck World Chalice, Arch-Parshath được tech thêm 1 để tăng thêm công cụ gây threat lên đối phương, đặc biệt là sau khi chúng ta negate card họ thành công bằng các Herald.

5. Archlord Kristya

If you have exactly 4 Fairy-Type monsters in your Graveyard, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). If Summoned this way: Target 1 Fairy-Type monster in your Graveyard; add that target to your hand. Neither player can Special Summon monsters. If this face-up card would be sent from the field to the Graveyard, place it on top of the Deck, instead.

Một trong những boss Fairy đáng sợ nhất thời đại, Kristya nói "KHÔNG" với mọi loại Special Summon. Summon Kristya cũng rất đơn giản trong World Chalice khi ta có thể gọi Kristya trực tiếp thông qua effect của nó hoặc thông qua effect của ... Firewall Dragon hoặc Skulldeat the Chained Dracoserpent.

6. Transmodify

Send 1 face-up monster you control to the GY; Special Summon from your Deck, 1 monster with the same Type and Attribute as that monster in the GY, but 1 Level higher. You can only activate 1 "Transmodify" per turn.

Lá Spell giúp "nâng cấp" Lee lên thành Venus, Shine Ball lên thành Venus. Tuy nhiên, trong thời đại nhà nhà chơi Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Transmodify cần được cân nhắc kĩ slot trong Main Deck.

III. Combo trong World Chalice

Đây là một Deck combo, nên để trình bày được hết combo gói gọn trong một bài viết là điều gần như không thể. Tác giả sẽ gợi ý những đặc điểm chính của combo và thứ tự tung ra những Link Monster quan trọng ở từng bước, còn việc thực hiện + mở rộng ra sao phụ thuộc vào bạn đọc.


#1 KHỞI ĐẦU COMBO: SKULLDEAT, THE CHAINED DRACOSERPENT

Skulldeat là Link Monster rất quan trọng và để thi triển combo full power thì bạn cần phải Link Summon ra chú rồng này.

2+ monsters with different names
This card gains effects based on the number of monsters used for its Link Summon.
● 2+: If a monster(s) is Normal or Special Summoned to a zone this card points to: That monster(s) gains 300 ATK/DEF.
● 3+: Once per turn: You can Special Summon 1 monster from your hand.
● 4: When this card is Link Summoned: You can draw 4 cards, then place 3 cards from your hand on the bottom of the Deck in any order.

Có một vài cách giúp bạn summon Skulldeat nếu như bạn bắt đầu bằng 1 trong 3 lá bài sau:

TH1: Brilliant Fusion

B1: Activate Brilliant Fusion, send Gem-Knight Garnet/Lazuli và Lee. Fusion Summon Gem-Knight Seraphinite
B2: Add Lee lên tay bằng cách send 1 monster trên tay. Normal Summon Lee, add World Legacy - World Chalice
B3: Normal Summon thêm 1 lần nữa World Legacy - World Chalice bằng cách tribute summon Gem-Knight Seraphinite.
B4: Link Summon ra "Auram the World Chalice Blademaster" = "World Legacy - World Chalice" + Lee. "World Legacy - World Chalice" trigger effect, kéo ra "Beckoned by the World Chalice" và "World Chalice Guardragon." Bạn xếp Beckoned ở ngay dưới Auram, và Guardragon vào 1 trong 2 ô mà Auram chỉ.
B5: Activate effect của Auram, send Guardragon xuống Graveyard để kéo lên Lee.
B6: Banish Guardragon dưới Graveyard để kéo lên Gem-Knight Garnet vào ô còn lại mà Auram chỉ.
B7: Link Summon ra "Skulldeat, the Chained Dracoserpent" = Auram + Gem-Knight Garnet + Lee + Beckoned.

B3: Link Summon lên Imduk The World Chalice Dragon = 1 Mystical Shine Ball
B4: Link Summon ra "Skulldeat, the Chained Dracoserpent" = 1 Venus + 1 Shine Ball + 1 Imduk + 1 Link Spider

TH3: Blackwing Gofu

B1: Special Summon Blackwing Gofu, tạo ra 2 token.
B2: Link Summon lên Link Spider = 1 token
B3: Normal Summon 1 monster bất kì.
B4: Link Summon ra "Skulldeat, the Chained Dracoserpent" = 1 Gofu + 1 token + 1 Link Spider + 1 monster bất kì.


#2 CẦU NỐI COMBO: NINGIRSU, THE WORLD CHALICE WARRIOR

Vai trò của Skulldeat là để bạn "tìm" ra Venus hoặc Brilliant Fusion. Bạn cần phải có cả Venus và Brilliant Fusion để thi triển combo tung ra Ningirsu tiếp theo.


Ningirsu là cầu nối combo, để bạn hồi tài nguyên thông qua việc draw, và tiến lên bước mở rộng combo.

TH1: Brilliant Fusion => Skulldeat the Chained Dracoserpent; và draw lên Venus

B1: Effect của Skulldeat, kéo Venus từ tay xuống và xếp Venus ở ô ngoài cùng xa nhất với Skulldeat.
B2: Activate effect của Venus, pay 1500 LP gọi ra 3 Mystical Shine Ball.
B3: Link Summon ra Imduk = 1 Mystical Shine Ball (đặt ở ô ngoài cùng mà Skulldeat chỉ vào)
B4: Link Summon ra Proxy Dragon = 1 Mystical Shine Ball + 1 Venus
B5: Link Summon ra Imduk = 1 Mystical Shine Ball
B6: Link Summon ra Ningirsu = 1 Proxy + 1 Imduk.

Nếu trên tay bạn còn World Chalice, xếp Ningirsu Chain Link 1, Imduk Chain Link 2 => Ningirsu sẽ draw 2 card.

TH2: Venus => Skulldeat the Chained Dracoserpent; và draw lên Brilliant Fusion

B1: Activate Brilliant Fusion, send xuống Lazuli + EBE. Cả 2 cùng trigger, Lazuli add lên tay Mystical Shine Ball, EBE banish Venus + Shine Ball để add lên tay Lee và Herald (tùy bạn chọn).
B2: Effect của Skulldeat, kéo Lee từ tay xuống. Lee add lên World Legacy - World Chalice.
B3: Tribute Summon World Legacy - World Chalice (Normal Summon thêm thông qua Seraphinite)
B4: Link Summon ra Ib the World Chalice Priestess = Lee + World Legacy - World Chalice (đặt Ib ở ô giữa mà Skulldeat chỉ vào)
B5: World Legacy - World Chalice khi send xuống Graveyard thì Special Summon ra World Chalice Guardragon và Beckoned by the World Chalice (đặt 2 monster này ở 2 ô mà Skulldeat chỉ vào).
B6: Link Summon ra Imduk = 1 Beckoned by the World Chalice
B7: Add Lee từ Graveyard lên hand bằng cách bỏ đi 1 monster
B8: Link Summon ra Ningirsu = 1 Ib + 1 Imduk.

Ningirsu Chain Link 1, Imduk Chain Link 2 => kéo Lee xuống vào ô Ningirsu chỉ, Ningirsu draw 2 card.

*** Cùng với Skulldeat, Ningirsu giúp bạn draw tới 6 card, một điều mà không nhiều Deck làm được hiện nay.


#3 MỞ RỘNG COMBO: FIREWALL DRAGON + TRIGATE WIZARD

Firewall Dragon

2+ monsters
Once while face-up on the field (Quick Effect): You can target monsters on the field and/or GY up to the number of monsters co-linked to this card; return them to the hand. If a monster this card points to is destroyed by battle or sent to the GY: You can Special Summon 1 monster from your hand.

2+ monsters, except Tokens
This card gains these effects based on the number of monsters co-linked to this card.
● 1+: If a monster co-linked to this card battles your opponent's monster, any battle damage it inflicts to your opponent is doubled.
● 2+: Once per turn: You can target 1 card on the field; banish it.
● 3: Once per turn, when a card or effect is activated (Quick Effect): You can negate the activation, and if you do, banish that card.

Skulldeat và Ningirsu giúp bạn draw tới 6 card rồi, và giờ làm gì? Bạn đã "tìm thấy" Monster Reborn hay Soul Charge? Nếu câu trả lời là có, chúc mừng bạn, bạn sẽ tạo ra được một field gồm cả Firewall Dragon + Trigate Wizard. "Quay" thế nào, giờ hoàn toàn phụ thuộc vào kĩ năng xử lý của bạn !!

... Còn đây là khi draw lên Soul Charge

Nếu bạn vẫn chưa draw lên Monster Reborn hay Soul Charge mà chỉ lên Archlord Kristya, hãy kết thúc combo với Skulldeat + Firewall + Ib + Krystia.

IV. Điểm mạnh và yếu của Deck

Là một Deck heavy-combo Link-centric (tập trung vào Link Summon), thế nên khi bị ngắt mạch combo bằng Ghost Ogre hay bị Maxx "C" mà không có câu trả lời luôn (Ash Blossom, Herald, ...v...v..) thì field của bạn rất mỏng manh.

Một khi đã vào "guồng quay", field tạo ra sẽ cực kì vững chắc và gần như đối thủ không thể có câu trả lời: không thể "Kaiju" do có Kristya trên sân, Spell/Trap/Effect Monster bị Trigate Wizard negate, monster bị đẩy lên tay bởi Firewall, chưa kể dàn hand/trap Herald search được đang cầm trên tay.

Đây cũng là Deck đặc biệt duy nhất có thể tạm thời nói "không sợ" với Ghost Ogre hay Ash Blossom - 2 handtrap mạnh nhất thời điểm hiện tại. Bạn hoàn toàn có thể xếp chain Skulldeat/Ningirsu/World Legacy - World Chalice Chain Link 1, các World Chalice Link Monster Chain Link 2 để né.

V. Decklist tham khảo
